Blue Impulse

The Japan Air Self-Defense Force’s only acrobatic team, Blue Impulse.
The blue and white aircraft perform flawless formations in the sky, as well as dynamic solo routines. Unfolding one after another, the amazing performances are a constant source of amazement.
The Matsushima Air Base of the Japan Air Self-Defense Force, home of the Blue Impulse, is located in Yamoto in Higashi-Matsushima City. There are many viewing spots around the base where you can watch training flights. The Matsushima Air Base Air Show is held every August and many people visit the show to see Blue Impulse and other fighter planes.
